IN THE FRAME: SEPTEMBER 2023

Technology is the future for modern construction

Welcome to In the Frame for September 2023, keeping you updated on the world of modular and light steel construction with Howick. This month we are sharing exciting developments from another hugely successful STEEL HORIZONS event, where we heard from some of the most influential minds in construction.

Then Howick CEO Nick Coubray explores the evolving role of software in the construction world and discusses Howick’s software strategy going forward.

We are also sharing the story behind an experimental build that used AI, and an exploration of how we are pioneering light gauge steel construction innovations with Autodesk, one of the world’s biggest software companies.

Construction Software

Howick’s software stance & the evolution in construction software

Howick’s roll-forming systems have always been built to be compatible with a wide range of software tools. After all, our expertise is in engineering world-class light steel framing machines, not software development.

Howick CEO, Nick Coubray, discusses that position and explores the world of construction software, covering new developments, challenges and opportunities for the future.

In and Out of the Box

How AI was used to build an experimental structure

Artificial intelligence (AI) could be about to open up a world of new possibilities for the architectural, engineering and construction industries.

Construction consultancy, STUD-IO recently demonstrated that potential at STEEL HORIZONS I BOSTON by using ChatGPT to generate a design narrative for an experimental steel structure built using Howick’s steel stud machines.
